Drama Digest:
This show is the epilogue episode of The Love Equations. The episode revolves around the wedding ceremony of the leads Zhao Fanzhou and Zhou Xiao and shows the gist of the lives of their university friends. Fanzhou is now a busy Medical Examiner whereas, Zhou Xiao is enjoying her life as a novelist. Fanzhou has no friends except Xie Yixing, so he has no best man for his wedding. Zhou Xiao asks her best buddy Cai Yasi to be the best man, to which he agrees despite his romantic feelings for her. Anxious Fanzhou is waiting eagerly for the arrival of his bride at the wedding venue. Zhou Xiao looks beautiful in her wedding dress. She walks down the aisle with her father, who gives her hand to the groom after advising him to love his daughter and cherish her forever.
After telling their heartfelt vows, Fanzhou gets on his knees to put the wedding ring on his bride and kiss to complete the ceremony. The story ends with the funny drunken conversations with his parents and in-laws and his wedding night.
The Feel-Good Part:
The drama gets the perfect wrap-up, with all characters getting their best endings. The wedding kiss scene with the old flashbacks makes the viewers nostalgic.
The Disappointing Factor:
The storyline seems rushed in respective to the relationship development of the leads. It directly jumps into the wedding preparations after the post-break-up relationship of the couple, which was the ending of the drama.
In-Depth Analysis:
In the epilogue, we see the growth of every character, from university students to mature adults. Zhou Xiao is the typical Chinese drama female lead who is cute, bubbly, adorable, bright, and passionate. Zhao Fanzhou is dour, reserved, and a nerd with a cold attitude but has a warm heart for his loved ones. Cai Yasi is a great friend and an adorable nerd. He has loved Zhou Xiao but is a fair player in love. Yi Chun is the childhood friend of the male lead who plays a vital role in drifting apart the couple for her selfish reasons yet, upon realization, corrects her mistake and gives up her feelings after witnessing the love of Fanzhou’s for Zhou Xiao. Xie Yixing and Zhu lu are going strong along with their differences regarding marriage. Tao Ling is working hard for her career, and Fang Wei still has her in his heart. After experiencing ups and downs, every character has grown up. The short extra shot of The love Equation is a happily ever after which everyone dreams of and wants to experience. It is not exactly realistic in approach and lacks the relationship development and emotional growth of the leads during and after the breakup period, which is a good drama to watch that brings a smile.
Star Power:
Every actor showcased their characters perfectly. The moving emotional parts of the leads during the wedding ceremony and their funny scenes are icing on the cake.
Overall Opinion:
A simple, short, sweet after story episode is a must-watch.
