The Legendary Life of Queen Lau is a Chinese drama that aired in 2022. The drama tells the story of Liu Jin Feng who was abandoned by her father as a child. She grew up with her mother and lived a rather rough life. Liu Jin Feng is street smart and tough, but she lacks etiquette and courtroom manners. Fate takes a twisted turn and she ends up marrying the king. Her lack of courtroom manners and appearance becomes a hindrance to making acquaintances in the courtroom, further her ambition of reforming the palace pokes the scheming men at the courtroom. The newlywed despite being polar opposites to each other becomes the perfect match as they get to know each other.
The Feel-Good Part
The best part of The Legendary Life of Queen Lau is its wit and humor. The drama series successfully delivers absurd humor in the series, which is also the highlight of the series. The lead female character was well written and it was empowering to witness a not-so-perfect female lead owning up to her imperfections, defying the general norms of most South Asian dramas.

The drama could have been concluded in fewer episodes as some of the moments and scenes were unnecessarily created and dragged.

The storyline is predictable and the love story between the two lead starts off typically as in most romantic comedy, that is, the opposite pair start with disliking each other and eventually falls in love. However, even with the predictable storyline, the drama will grip you till the end because of its outstanding narration and screenplay. The most important ingredient for a successful rom-com is the chemistry between the on-screen pairs, and the drama delivers that perfectly!
