Drama Digest

After a rowdy night out, two old school pals join the same institution, where their buried love for one another is revealed.

The Feel-Good Part

The drama features fluffy romance and a terrific real-to-reel life drama that hits on various topical subjects.

The Disappointing Factor

Part of the plot revolves around Xichi’s reaction to the disintegration of the ideal family how she had imagined and dreamed. Her parents handled the incident irrationally, which became the reason behind Xichi’s and her younger brother’s anguish.

In-depth Analysis

The drama is based on a book titled Cream-Flavored Unrequited Love by Zhu Yi.Lin Xi Chi is a veterinary medicine student at college. She is well-liked and renowned for her bright and happy demeanor, even though she is more insecure on the inside than she would like to admit. Xu Fang, a childhood buddy and national defense student is also a student in the same institution. He’s had a crush on Lin XI Chi since they were in elementary school, but never had the nerve to tell her. Even though he might be irritable with others, he is always compassionate with Lin Xi Chi.

Lin Xi Chi was forced to forgo a month’s living expenses after losing a bet related to an arm-wrestling match – a twist of destiny that draws the two ex-school pals closer than ever. And their friendship is flipped upside down one evening when Xi Chi becomes intoxicated, bringing long-suppressed feelings to the surface.

Star Power

Song Yi Ren and Zhang Yao made Xi Chi and Xu Fang a pair to cherish for their pure and genuine skill that no other models and artists can match. The side pairs were also really charming. There was enough backstory for the secondary characters, but not too much.

Overall Opinion

The entire plot is quite complex. It is about abandonment, understanding each other’s viewpoints, forgiveness, and “being the greatest version of myself so that I may be the best version of you.” Most importantly, this play addressed the realistic emotional and psychological challenges of pursuing one’s aspirations, an aspect generally overseen in youth dramas.
