Drama Digest:

The drama follows the dynamic relationship between two ice-skating lovers, Li Yu Bing and Tang Xue. They first meet in elementary school, where they both were table mates. But despite that, Tang Xue is probably Li Yu Bing’s worst memory because she always deprecated and bullied him. Naturally, Li Yu Bing couldn’t stand the idea of the girl who turned his school days into a terrifying nightmare. However, time passes, and everything changes. Years later, they are once again reunited in university, but the situation isn’t the same anymore. The once shy and coward Li Yu Bing is now the icon of ice hockey in his university. Whereas, the insensitive and intimidating Tang Xue has somewhat lost all her glory, and is almost on the verge of giving up her ice-skating dream. The meeting reignites Li Yu Bing’s yearning for revenge, and he uses his influence to make her his assistance. However, ironically the closer they get, the more he notices her nice side and starts falling for her, but many external factors keep threatening their relationship.

The Feel-Good Part:

The best part was when Tang Xue is almost about to give her ice-skating dream, but then Li Yu Bing comes along and makes her, once again, fall in love with the sport. Also, the characters have strong personalities and stories of their own. Instead of being extremely ‘too-good-to-be-real’ type, they are rather more humane. For instance, even though Tang Xue was slightly a bully, that still didn’t make Li Yu Bing an angle. Even he had negative aspects just the way Tang Xue had a good side too.

The Disappointing Part:

The show is lengthy with 40 episodes, and although not at all monotonous, yet it’s a pity how many people might end up missing on this good drama; since they generally tend to go for shorter series with 20 or less episodes. Further, another disappointment would be how at some points, the couple broke up on the basis of silly misunderstanding. It was slightly annoying. Not to forget how the drama is centered on sport, yet you don’t get to witness its actual glory for even once.

In-Depth Analysis:

The drama is based on the novel, with the same title, written by Jiu Xiaoqi. The story teaches you how wholesome your life can be if you have a goal you feel passionate for. It reminds everyone to have the courage to dream and then never give up on those dreams but rather work as hard as possible to achieve them. It majorly centers on the fact that how important communication is in relationships. Once Li Yu Bing and Tang Xue get closer and started communicating more, they discover new things about each other and understand each other better. It also showcases how you need to support each other in relationships, protecting and pushing each other wherever needed, and that no one is entirely a devil or an angel; everyone has their own stories and struggles.

Star Power:

Honestly, the star game of the show is just outstanding. The character of Li Yu Bing feels as if it was custom-made just for ‘Steven Zhang.’ He does a fabulous job portraying the role of Li Yu Bing, his charm not at all failing to mesmerize you. On the other hand, ‘Janice Wu’ also did an admirable job. She will make you love and hate her at the same time. The show also has a good supporting casts like ‘Wei Tian Hao,’ ‘Han Jiu Nuo,’ ‘Zhang Lei,’ ‘Deng Lun,’ etc.

Overall Opinion:

I feel anyone who is in a mood for a long commitment and does not mind doing a long binge should go, for sure watch this show. The sweet romance among the characters and the comic timing will make it all worth it.
