The story revolves around the secretary of the subordinates, Tang Liang, and entrepreneur, Tang Xiao Jun as they return to their poverty-stricken hometown and vow to reform it to modernity with the help of Fan Xing Huo, the village director, and the other villagers.

The Feel Good Part

The drama, overall, is a slice of life genre-based, which means we get to see a range of emotions from sadness to humor to anger as our characters do their best to help their village come out of the clutches of poverty. The characters have beautiful chemistry and are dependent on each other. The cinematography perfectly alters the mood of a slice-of-life drama set in a village. Every aspect of the show is so well portrayed.

The Disappointing Part

The viewers may find the series a bit boring as it tackles societal issues that may not be interesting for everybody. There is no romance or comedy as such and thus the viewers who are interested in that theme may not be convinced by this movie.

In-Depth Analysis

The golden mountain and silver mountain is a beautiful show set around the lives of villagers and how they do their best to help their poor village develop. The cinematography is one to be applauded as it alters the mood of the series and plays with emotions indirectly. The cast has great chemistry together and their characters complement each other as they are dependent on each other.

Star Power

The cast of this show is true to be appreciated as they managed to bring out their characters well. Fan ming as fan xing and Shi An as Tang Liang, in the main role, alleviated the series but the supporting cast was also no less. Even as the supporting characters, the cast justified their actions and made the movie watchable.

Overall Opinion

Everybody should give this series a chance, some may find it boring initially, but it is worth the watch. The cast is one to look forward to and the lovely plot is a plus point of this drama. The highs and lows of life in a village setting, especially a village battling poverty is very appropriately showcased by the characters and the script. Despite a few noticeable errors and flaws, the script is well made and sets the tone of the movie. The cast manages to provide the appropriate amount of fictional depth to the characters they are portraying without making the movie seem like a burden to watch or unbearable. Each aspect of the movie is so well portrayed that it perfectly brings out a range of emotions from sadness to laughter to anger. The movie is worth the watch for sure.
