Drama Digest

The story revolves around Cheng Shao Shang (Zhao Lusi). She was left behind by her parents when they went to war and was raised by her aunt. Soon after, she meets the emperor’s adopted son, Ling Bu Yi (Wu Lei). She assumes him as a cold and ruthless person in the begin. But, that notion changes later. Later, she becomes involved in the mystery surrounding Ling Bu Yi’s family and his identity.

The Feel-Good Part

The storytelling of “Love Like The Galaxy” is at its perfection.  The drama begins on a lighter note.  The story unfolds at a slow pace, which helps the audience to understand the flow of the story and to know the characters well.  It has an exciting storyline with well-conceived and realistic characters. The cinematography and sets are impressive and it has beautiful shots.

The Disappointing Part

The most disappointing factor in the drama would be the lack of interaction between the main characters, and the rest of the characters. It made the characters feel distant at times. Some fans have interpreted that there are many irritating characters in this drama. Cheng Shao Shang’s aunt and grandmother and some other female characters, irritate Shao Shang.

In-Depth Analysis

When Cheng Shao Shang was young, most of her family had to leave to fight in a bloody war. As a result, she grew up alone in an unforgiving environment. She became rigid and resourceful while growing up but also stubborn and untrusting. She finds it hard to see the good in people and assumes that everyone she meets is trying to get the better of her. She fends for herself in a town populated by people like her. She encounters three men, viz. the adopted son of the emperor Ling Bu Yi, the talented Yuan Shen of Bailu Mountain, and the aristocrat Lou Yao. They all have their pros and cons. The road to love is difficult, but she never regrets her choices. While interacting with Ling Bu Yi, she gets involved in the mystery surrounding his family and identity. The two work together and grow from their experiences. They uphold the righteousness in their hearts to resolve a national crisis.

Star Power

“Love Like The Galaxy” is an adaption of the novel ‘The Stars are Brilliant, Fortunately Even Wow,’ written by ‘Guan Xin Le Luan’. The drama is directed by Fei Zhenxiang. He directed a historical drama for the first time. He did a remarkable job. The cast of each role in the drama did excellent acting, especially Zhao Lusi and Wu Lei. They delivered an in-depth and rich character arc with various expressions.

Overall Opinion

This drama can keep you immersed in it. It has occasional comedic scenes and small twists and turns that make it enjoyable to watch. The cast is talented and has terrific chemistry. It is always comforting to see a drama that focuses on family dynamics, not all on romance.
