Drama Digest

The drama follows a web writer who gets by his days as usual, working. His life appears to be sedentary. One day, he is left in a dilemma when one of his very own creations appears to have entered his world. And thus begins an unexpected arrangement between the creator and the creation. It is adapted from a novel which has the same title, i.e, “Farewell My Villain”.

The Feel-Good Part

The drama’s plot itself feels very funny. It has lots of comedy incorporated in it. So, you will never have to worry about being left unhappy. The dynamics of the characters also greatly add to the comedy and other aspects and contribute to bringing the story to life in a way that makes viewers feel they themselves are watching it.

The Disappointing Factor

The only disappointing thing about the show is how short it is. Anyone can complete it in one sitting and therefore, it leaves one longing for more. At the same time, the story lacks depth. The story feels one dimensional because it does not showcase the past or provide some more detailed back story for all the characters, and as such, falls short of it. As a result, the story feels like it lacks depth.

In-Depth Analysis

Ah Xing is a web writer at a major city workplace. One day, he was working alone like usual in order to meet deadlines and make sure he did not end up in a pile of work. While he was working, unexpectedly, a wicked and arrogant guy crept out of his computer! What’s more, is the fact that this unwanted guest is someone Ah Xing knows. It is none other than Zhong Zhuohang, Xing’s own imaginary nemesis and the villain of the story Ah Xing has created as a web writer. Zhuohang has arrived in the actual world in order to assist Xing in devising more acceptable plots for him. He states the reason for doing so is that he is tired of dying every time. As a result of Xing’s kindness, Zhuohang is taken in, and we get a glimpse inside their bizarre living situation.

Star Power

The stars do an amazing job of showcasing the chemistry between the leads, i.e, Shao Tian, who plays Zhou Zhuohang, the villain who enters the writer’s world, and Vincent Tang who plays A Xing, the web writer.

Overall Opinion

If fantasy and comedies are your cup of tea, this is the drama you should go for without a hitch. Just make sure to relax and enjoy it because it does not require much for attention.
