Drama Digest

This high school drama is about the everyday lives of young students who are dealing with problems rooted in their family, relationships, and friendships. The narrative is about how they overcome these challenges with the help of their counsellor and make peace with their situations.

The Feel-Good Part

The series offers classic high school nostalgia to its audience, which is a very beautiful experience. It has a very simple plot that is fun to watch for laidback entertainment with friends on the weekend. Each of the episodes is very wholesome to watch, and that is the best part of this series. The high school setup and the uniforms are also impressive and interesting to look at as they keep the audience engaged with the theme.

The Disappointing Factor

This series follows a very generic plot of high school drama, which cannot be considered very unique. Another important thing to mention is that there is a 2011 movie that goes by the same title, which can be misleading for the audience.

In-Depth Analysis

Life at the high school appears to be very energetic and enthusiastic for students. It might likewise be the most perplexing period in life. As we see in the series the students can have problems and anxiety related to various issues. This is when Ms. Wong, a counsellor at Self Academy, comes to the rescue. Ms. Wong, who desires to assist the students with their problems, aims to prepare them to deal efficiently with any given situation and, most importantly, enjoy high school life.

Star Power

The main characters, Gigi, Chantel, and Yumi, deserve a special appreciation as they make the audience feel so connected as if they know them personally. Also, Joey Wong nails the role of Ms. Wong, as she makes the character feel powerful on-screen. The supporting actors also do an amazing job of making the high school energy reach new heights. A very dynamic and beautiful job was done by the entire team of the series.

Overall Opinion

The series is a perfect balance between love, humour, and drama, none of it is overdone. This is a complete package of lighthearted entertainment with amazing characters. It’s worth a watch as you might end up engaging with the characters and relating to their situations.
