Uniqlo is a Japanese retail fashion brand established in 1949. Previously it was a men's wear clothing brand named Ogori Shōji. Their first unisex casual wear store under the name "Unique Clothing Warehouse" was opened in 1984 in Hiroshima. In November 1998, its first modern Uniqlo store in Tokyo's fashionable Harajuku district was opened, and soon outlets were opened in other major cities in Japan. Uniqlo changed to Uniqlo Co. Ltd after it was transferred to Sun Road Co. Ltd in 2005.
