Drama Digest

Season two of the spinoff of the iconic anime epic Inuyasha. A show about Sesshomaru’s half-demon twin daughters, Towa and Setsuna. This season gives a deeper look into the adventures and battles our group of girls goes through. The season opens right after the fight against Kirinmaru, where Sesshomaru appears before Towa and asks her to wield Tenseiga, a broken sword, to revive Setsuna. Will she be able to do it? Will there be more to this task? And what adventures will our band of characters go on next? Watch the anime and find out.

The Feel-Good Part

Aside from the apparent nostalgia and the iconic characters in the show, the second season is a significant upgrade from the first, with a much more focused storyline and a plot that keeps its viewers engaged and excited about what happens next. The show also has a beautiful message this season about reconciliation and recollection that bridges the nostalgia with the newer content, which is very exciting.

The Disappointing Factor

Whether or not this series, in general, meets the standards of the original Inuyasha is up for debate. If you are looking for something that sheds more light on the original series, you may feel disappointed. If you are okay with a newer generation of the Inuyasha universe, then you may come to appreciate and really like this show a lot. You may also find a lot of pacing issues and issues in dialogue, which may not let you enjoy the show as much.

In-Depth Analysis

There’s much to take from this show aside from the nostalgia and beloved characters. Its themes are certainly front and center this season, and there’s much you can expect and love from this show. It may not be the best sequel/spinoff, but it still highlights what the original show brought audiences and what made audiences love it.

Star Power

Our three main leads reprise their roles this season with Azusa Tadokoro, Sara Matsumoto, and Mikako Komatsu voicing Moroha, Towa, and Setsuna, respectively. Each of them delivers excellent performances which add a lot of value to their characters. This season also brings back Inuyasha, voiced by the iconic voice actor Yamaguchi Kappei. The veteran actor delivers an outstanding performance of his already iconic character.

Overall Opinion

The second season of the spinoff dives a lot deeper into this universe that has been created by the Inuyasha characters. If you wish to continue from the first season and carry on with this show, then watching this season is worth it.
