Koi To Yobu Ni Wa Kimochi Warui is a Japanese anime based on a web manga that aired from April 2021 to June 2021. The anime is alternatively known as Koikimo. The plotline tells the love story between a womanizer and a nerdy girl. Ryou Amakusa is a flirtatious womanizer whose life is once saved by Ichika Arima, a high school nerdy girl. Ryou again encounters Ichika the same night and gets to know that she is the best friend of his younger sister. Ryou attempts to sweep Ichika off her feet with his flirtatious ways and even stalks her, but Ichika doesn’t fall for his creepy tactics. The saying ‘opposite attracts’ turns true in their case.
The Feel-Good Part
Koi To Yobu Ni Wa Kimochi Warui is a cute rom-com anime that give you butterflies as you watch the series. The characters were written tactfully and were shown the necessary growth throughout the anime.
The Disappointing Factor
The only objectionable factor of this anime is how the male lead, Ryou stalks the high school student, Ichika Arima. Even though it’s a romantic comedy genre anime, the stalking behavior was wrongly depicted and written. There are also many critics about the vast age difference between the male and female lead characters, where the male is 27 years and the female is 17 years old.

Koi To Yobu Ni Wa Kimochi Warui is a pretty good rom-com, though is a little predictable. The initial episodes of the anime is a let-down, one might even drop the anime. However, we advise you to continue watching the anime as the later episodes make up for the bad start. The art style of the anime is average, along with its soundtrack. The characters are written thoughtfully, and especially the execution of the behavior of Ryou is impressive, as his creepy behavior was executed in a way that made it bearable.

The character of Ryou Amakusa is voiced by Toshiyuki Toyonaga, and the character of Ichika Arima is voiced by Yurie Kozaki. The supporting cast includes actors such as Ryouhei Kimura, Jouji Nakata, and many more.
