Anime Digest

Set in a near-future alternate reality in which mankind develops technology and establishes societies based on compounds present in human brains. Humans are also endowed with extrasensory abilities as a result of these substances. The Other Suppression Force (OSF) seeks out people with extraordinary powers to safeguard humanity against the Others, a race of mindless mutants that have descended from the Extinction Belt.

The Feel-Good Part

The anime has a very satisfactory ending and it is a great relief for the audience who expects a lot form any anime. The creators changed the ending and made it different from the game this anime is adapted from, so, it came as a shock to the gamers who have played and finished the game. The impactful and satisfactory ending is what makes this anime worth a watch as it leaves the audience with the feeling of being yanked from the world of Scarlet Nexus and back to their original world and the Disappointment that the anime ended too soon.

The Disappointing Factor

As the anime is adapted from a game and for all the audience who are not gamers, it is a bit fast paced and difficult to follow the storyline without getting confused. It also gets very dark in terms of storyline very quickly. The game players also know a lot about the storyline even before the episodes released but those minor changes in the anime kept the surprise element for the gamers too.

In-Depth Analysis

A nation faces the omnipresent danger of the “Others” in the year 2020—mysterious beasts who fall from the sky and feast on human brains. Psionics, a hormone that provides some humans extrasensory skills that can be used against the Others, is found in the human body at the same period. In order to confront these creatures and save humanity, the nation’s founder organises the Other Suppression Force (OSF). The Scarlet Guardians are a group of young people with psychic abilities that go through extensive training to join.

The nation plans an award ceremony for the outstanding recruits who have completed the arduous preparation to become Scarlet Guardians one day. Yuito Sumeragi, the tenacious child of the nation’s founder, is one of these young elites; by the age of five, he was already a member of the nation’s elite.

Star Power

The anime has characters being voiced by famous voice actors like Asami Seto, whose most famous works are ‘Rascal does not dream of bunny girl senpai’ and ‘Jujutsu Kaisen’ , and Junya Enoki, who already has major animes that he has voice acted in, like ‘Jujutsu Kaisen’, ‘Demon Slayer’ and ‘Haikyuu!!’.

Overall Opinion

This is an anime that has been anticipated by the gamers and loved by fellow otaku. The fighting scenes are facinating and the minor changes done by the company are sure to keep you on the edge of your seats. The character design is phenomenal and the voice actors are well-known in the anime industry and thus provide for a great performance and justifies the emotions conveyed by the characters. Overall, this anime is a hidden gem for gamers as well as people who love the genre of telekinesis and action.
