Drama Digest –

Minato Kiyomizu’s life completely changes when he is revived from a coma of 203 days and realizes he cannot play water polo anymore. Disappointed, he is reminded of his past, which brings him to join the school’s water polo club. Learning the basics again helps him rekindle his deeply buried wish of becoming Japan’s renowned player.

The Feel-good Part –

The plot focuses on the difficulties Minato faces first to accept his fate and to give his wish another chance. The climax is rewarding to watch which brings hope in the viewer to be fearless in their own lives. It is a fascinating story. The animation of water polo games was accurate. Since this is a sports show, and as characters play the most important segment of it, the series works on point on their teamwork, camaraderie, and their likeness towards the audience.

The Disappointing Factor –

The cast is weak in some parts. The background music is dull, which distracts the seriousness of the scene. The animation could’ve been better.  Many sports anime become predictable, due to the generic trope being followed. The main character transition near the end was a bit rushed due to the runtime. The other characters also have backstories but are not unique as from the main characters. There was something missing about the overall execution that hampered the watching experience. The foundations of the series felt quite shallow.

In-Depth Analysis –

Being a story based on sports, it is rare for an anime series to be authentic and inspiring at the same time. The struggles shown by the main lead are genuine and loud, which attracts the attention of the viewers the most. It is an excellent attempt to give the right message of following our dreams despite the challenges along the way. The opening of this anime gave good vibes. The background music and the vibrant shades of the characters were fresh and exciting.

Star Power-

Minato is a water polo prodigy who aspires to be the best water polo athlete in Japan. After he meets with an accident, he goes into a coma and loses his ability to play water polo. His determination and focus to regain the lost is deeply captured in the show. The dementia aspect helped make our main character interesting and conflicting, not just within himself but also in other people around him. The main character has a lot of things going for him at the height of his passion for water polo garnering fame and popularity, but alas, the accident would tell a different story about Minato, wearing a facade that breaks all expectations and reveals their true colors.

Overall Opinion –

It is an insightful and rewarding story to follow, which will bring inspiration and good energy to the viewer. A different sports anime with a new twist. A worthwhile watch for sure.
