Drama digest:

It’s a royal story about the reincarnation of the protagonist in somebody else’s body. He reincarnates in the body of a boy whose wish is to avenge the murder of his beloved mother.

The feel-good factor:

This anime does not portray anything uncomfortable. It has a clean plot. All the fight scenes are well-animated. And unlike a lot of shows, the show remains decent throughout.

The disappointing factor:

Both the lead characters on the show are in the middle ground of remembering both of their lives, which is confusing. The accident in which Haruto died was very exaggerated. There are an awful lot of characters in the show that can confuse the audience.

In-depth analysis:

The story starts with a guy named Haruto Amakawa, who passes away due to a bus accident. His lifelong wish was to search for his friend, who had suddenly disappeared five years ago. After his death, Haruto reincarnates in the body of a young boy named Rio. Rio is a resident of slums in the Bertram kingdom, and his ultimate wish is to seek revenge for his mother’s murder. As Haruto reincarnates in Rio’s body, both of their memories fuse. So, both of them remember the motto of their lives. At that same time, one of the two princesses, Flora of the Beltram kingdom, had gotten kidnapped. In these conditions, Rio devises a plan to help princess Flora and succeeds in doing so. Everybody in the Beltram kingdom thanks Rio for his help. Due to Rio’s heroism, he is offered to enroll in the Bertram Kingdom Royal Institute as a reward. To use this rich opportunity, Rio enrolls and starts his tuition. But months later, Rio’s fate turns upside down as he gets expelled from the kingdom due to some false accusations made on him. This makes him flee from the country and visit the house, his mother used to live in. There he meets his grandfather and cousin, who tell Rio about his royal heritage. Later, he returns to the kingdom with his newfound identity, ‘Haruto.’ Now, he’s more adamant than ever about killing his parents’ enemies. He later learns that his mother was killed by a man named Lucius, who was an heir to the Orgueille household. Later in the story, Rio kills him without even knowing the whole truth. In this way, Haruto and Rio’s combined life continues. This series portrays numerous other characters.

 Star power:

The highlight of the show was its protagonist Haruto/Rio. This is because it was a unique combination of two personalities dwelling in the same body and mind which broadens the scope of the aim of the show.

Overall opinion:

The anime took everyone by surprise because of how good it turned out. Even though the animation is uneven in some places, it is still an excellent show.
