The Feel-Good Part

The members of CGM48 are a lively and colorful bunch and given a platform like a reality TV variety show allows their fans to experience them outside of their musical endeavors. The girls present in this show are extremely fun and exciting to watch. They have some great moments and everything they do is just fun and cute. There are some quirky and goofy aspects to the show that we wouldn’t see otherwise from the members. This allows them to showcase their charm unlike any other time before. This show is a little treat for the fans and something to look forward to. If you are a fan of the group and especially fans of Fahsai Phattaratida Chongprasankiat, Jayda Ravinda Alan, Fortune Pundita Koontawee, and Aom Punyawee Jungcharoen, you will enjoy this show a lot. There are colorful sets, comedy, and wholesome moments, it is truly worth the watch for the fans and those who want to get to know the group and its members even more.

The Disappointing Factor

This show is made only for the fans and therefore if you have no idea who the group is you may not enjoy it. The quirky and goofy aspects of the show do tend to wear thin after a while. Because this show is not set in an actual dorm and is produced in a studio, a lot of it feels manufactured. However, the cast members make up for it by letting their personalities shine no matter what. As mentioned earlier, if you are a fan or want to know more about the group, you will like this show, however, if you have no idea or are not fond of their music, then you may not like this show and find it a bit unnecessary.

In-Depth Analysis

The variety show format for girl groups and music groups, in general, has changed over the years. This time around, this variety show feels more like a special and less like a reality TV show. This is probably due to the set designs and the manufactured nature. Beyond that, it still allows the group members to relax and express themselves in ways they couldn’t do if they were performing on stage.

Star Power

Fahsai Phattaratida Chongprasankiat, Jayda Ravinda Alan, Fortune Pundita Koontawee, and Aom Punyawee Jungcharoen are the stars of this CGM48 special. The original group consists of 30 members and even more with their sister groups across Asia. These girls truly breathe a new life into the show and are the reasons why the show is so popular. Fortune Pundita Koontawee stars in a drama called Triage, and Aom Punyawee Jungcharoen stars in XYZ and One Take. Aom Punyawee Jungcharoen also appears in two other reality TV shows; BNK48 Senpai: 2nd Generation and Victory BNK48. While the girls do not have much experience in the world of acting or reality TV, they could transition to the reality Tv and drama landscape quite smoothly based on this special.

Overall Opinion

Fans of CGM48 will enjoy this show. It is a great entry point into their goofy and comedic sides. It will be interesting to see what the group does next and whether they will expand into more reality TV variety shows in the future.
