Drama Digest

The world is in danger. There is a constant threat to the environment, the ocean levels are rising, pollution is at an all-time high, and if we do not take any action soon, we could be causing severe and irreversible changes and damage to the planet. But how do we care for our planet? And how do we fix these problems? Law of Symbiosis is a show that aims to identify the various causes of problems and the current status of ecosystem-disrupting species. This is to help the planet in harmonious coexistence and help us understand what our next steps are. What do our hosts; Kim Byung Man, Bae Jung Nam, and Park Goon, find on their expeditions? Are they able to ensure an easy life for the species in a certain area if they remove unwanted and disrupting species? What are the various things we learn along the way next to our three hosts? Narrated by Lee Geum hee, Law of Symbiosis aims to help the environment. Watch this show to find out how they do it.

The Feel-Good Part

While the show comes from an extremely concerning and serious matter, it does manage to balance out its tone and vibe with various comedic moments and interesting facts. The show is made beautifully as it not only captures a great side to nature but also gives us a reason to love our planet more. The show is insistent that it aims to just observe and understand how ecosystem-disrupting species can affect the environment. By doing so we can understand what is the next step that needs to be done. The show explores a wide range of invasive species and gives us an interesting look into life as we know it. Aside from the cast, the narration is also a great aspect of the show which is reminiscent of animal and environment channels that used to air on TV.

The Disappointing Factor

The show has come under fire for how they treat these invasive species and especially for scenes where they kill or eliminate these invasive species. Several animal rights activists have pointed out that even though they are invasive they also have feelings like other animals and that it was humans that bought these invasive species into the ecosystem. Another disappointing factor is that while it does try to make itself seem like a legitimate and well-rounded show with scientific backing, its attempts at balance do not allow it to be taken that seriously. Regardless, it is still a great attempt of exploring climate and species in a variety show which has hardly ever been done before.

In-Depth Analysis

The show’s major issues are its tone and how they handle its subject matter. While it is important to understand the impact of invasive species it might not be the right platform to host these discoveries on a reality TV variety show. The show has good intentions but with serious decisions, it loses everything it has to say.

Overall Opinion

There are a few vital mistakes with this show. However, the show means no ill will and just wants to find ways in which we can all live together in harmony.
