Drama Digest

Something mysterious lurks within Japan, and the members of Johnny’s WEST are here to find out. Anata No Kawari Ni Mitekimasu! Real Totsu WEST looks at the famous Japanese boy group members as they uncover mysterious cases in Japan. Each episode focuses on one mystery in a documentary-style exploration of these real-life cases. While this mystery unravels, the boy band members act as seven reporters and bring all the answers. What will the boys uncover? What is lurking beneath the surface? And how will the boys go under pressure? Watch the show and find out.

The Feel-Good Part

As much as mystery and suspense exist in each episode, there is something lighthearted about the show and everything the boys have to offer. These explorations are treated respectfully and with a level of innocence that is fun to watch and very interesting. And, of course, the most significant part of the show is the boys themselves. Each group member offers some great moments, comedic moments, and absolute interest in what they are trying to uncover. It is both endearing and wonderful. And it is fun to see the boys outside their musical landscape and with something more to offer. The length of the episodes is perfect, the mysteries uncovered in each episode are excellent, and it is just a fantastic show to watch.

The Disappointing Factor

It is very little you can fault with this show. It is just what it is; a boyband exploring the hidden mysteries of Japan on an episode-by-episode basis. It looks at the boy group, how they function outside of music, and how they can work as hosts and reporters. Perhaps the only disappointing part is how long the season is. Forty-six episodes in a season are not easy to watch for someone just starting a drama or a TV show. But with the episodic nature and new mysteries to be uncovered every episode, there is something for everyone.
