Movie Digest
Min Gyu is a documentary maker and he makes documentaries on social issues to fight against injustice but he is now trying to quit his job due to financial problems. Hannah is a figure skater but she had to quit her passion, her dream, so she is struggling with identity issues. And Ju Hee is in search of her birth mother and she is about to experience a painful journey. Together, the three get their lives entangled and embark on an emotional journey, a journey, which began as a search with the purpose to find Ju Hee’s mother but in the process it becomes an opportunity, they meet the guitar factory workers who are resisting against unfair layoffs, they also meet an old woman whose husband is in North Korea, During the journey, the three experience love, loss and reflect upon themselves to figure out their own identity. Min Gyu and Hannah also develop feelings for each other.
The Feel Good Part
The ABCs of our relationship was a wholesome movie. The supporting characters and sideline stories that were moral worthy were so beautiful. The way the story is handled in the movie is just lovely. The actors have also done a good job and the plot is also appropriate.
The Disappointing Factor
Nothing is disappointing about this movie except the fact that it should have been a series, to fully explore the stories of the characters well in depth.
In-Depth Analysis
The ABCs of our relationship is a lovely slice-of-life drama movie to look forward to. It beautifully handles the dynamics of relationships in lives, be it a mother-daughter relationship, a boss-employee relationship or even a husband-wife relationship. The plot of the movie is interesting and the actors have fortunately done a really good job with their characters. Nothing is exaggerated or out of place in this movie. Disappointing that it was not turned into a series because we could have explored the stories of the other supporting actors in-depth and the movie would have benefitted from it.
Star Power
The cast of the show is full of refreshing actors who have not played a main role before in any series or movie but still did a very good job their first time.
Overall Opinion
Overall, the movie is a memorable one and viewers would not regret watching it. People who are not into soapy emotional melodramatic romance, may not really like this movie. But one should give it a try watching it before deciding about this movie.
