Movie Digest

Lee Sung Gyu is a bank manager. One day, he takes his kids in his car to drop them off at their school and then go to work. On the way to his kids’ school, he receives a phone call without a caller ID. The unknown caller informs him that there is a bomb beneath his car and that it will explode if anyone inside the car steps out. The caller then tells Sung Gyu that the bomb will not explode if he pays them a ransom. Can they get out of the car safely? What happens if he is a suspect in the eyes of the police? Watch how this remake of a Spanish movie proceeds.

The Feel-Good Part

The movie has good cinematography, and the background music suits the movie’s vibe. The pacing is perfect. The suspense is intense from the beginning of the movie and is consistent throughout it. The casting is remarkable. The story doesn’t have unnecessary things and doesn’t extend the movie pointlessly. The limited space used, i.e., the car, doesn’t affect the movie’s quality. The story, although it is a remake, is relatable to everyone. Each one of the viewers can imagine themselves as the protagonist. The movie shows the value of the relationship between a father and his children beautifully.

The Disappointing Factor

The story does not have anything out of the ordinary, i.e., it is predictable. The emotions in the latter half of the movie seem forced. The product placement seems too obvious. The plot could have been more realistic. The ending could have been more thrilling and unexpected. The movie could have been made into a drama than a movie by adding more details to the characters.

In-Depth Analysis

Lee Sung Gyu is the protagonist of the movie and a bank manager. Sung Gyu being a bank worker, plays a crucial part in the movie. Initially, he does not believe the unknown caller and thinks of it as some prank. He believes the caller only after he witnesses an explosion in front of his eyes. The situation is nerve-wracking and makes one lose their mind. Sung Gyu is an ambitious banker who spares little time for his family. The whole situation makes one realize the value of family and the time spent with them. When one’s death seems near, the person becomes desperate to do anything to save their life. It is depicted in the movie accurately. The movie also shows how karma works and that it never fails.

Star Power

Jo Woo Jin has played the protagonist Lee Sung Gyu’s character. Although he rarely gets to play a protagonist, he has portrayed Sung Gyu perfectly. Ji Chang Wook’s portrayal of the unknown caller Jin Woo makes the movie more interesting as it is different from the protagonist roles he generally plays. Lee Jae in has portrayed the sensible daughter Lee Hye In. The whole production and acting teams have made the movie succeed.

Overall Opinion

Hard Hit takes one on a thrill ride. Those who like such kinds of movies should give it a try!
