The South Korean film, Cinema Street was released on 2021. The film explores the genre of romance, drama, comedy and Slice-of-life. The film depicts a healing story of love. The plotline revolves around two of the central characters of the film, Seon Hwa and Do Young, who were lovers in the past, but were now broken up. The two of them reunites through work. The two of them co-incidentally meet each other due to their work as a director and film location manager. Sparks fly once again when they meet, and the two seem to fall for each other again.

The Feel-Good Part

The viewers can enjoy a string of heart fluttering romance. The chemistry between the two lead characters is very natural and looks very effortless on-screen. The beautiful picturesque location of Busan is like the cherry on top!

The Disappointing Factor

As a rom-com movie, the film, Cinema Street has hardly any disappointing factors in it. The film is a light-hearted watch, there isn’t any room for faulty or major disappointments. But even so, if we must point out a con of this film, that would be the background score, the background score at times does feel out of the place.

In-Depth Analysis

Cinema Street is a movie about two ex-lovers who meet in a chance encounter through their professional work. Seon Hwa (played by Han Sun Hwa) and Do Young (played by Lee Wan) meets in a professional setting at Busan as the director and film location manager. The first meeting though was awkward, being the location manager, Seon Hwa keeps on helping Do Young find the right location for his film. As they continue to meet, though while bickering, their chemistry starts to build on and it can be witnessed that though they were broken up, there is still love left between the two.

Star Power

South Korean actor Lee Wan plays the lead role of Do Young. Cinema Street is the first film that Lee Wan acted in since a long time, his last film prior to Cinema Street was released in 2015. Due to Cinema Street being his first project after a couple of years, the film received immense attention from his fans. Actress Han Sun Hwa plays the lead role of Seon Hwa. Kim Shin Bi plays the role of Soo Hyun, Park Se Ki plays the role of Hae Sol, Kim Ri Hyun plays the role of the assistant director, Lee Chang Won plays the role of Eun Ho, and Nam Gi Hyung plays the role of the cinematographer. Veteran actress Jung Haeng Shim plays the role of the grandmother in this film.

Overall Opinion

The film shows two ex-lovers with overflowing chemistry rekindle their romance as they collaborate to work together. The plotline is simple and makes for a light-hearted watch. The picturesque locations of Busan is a treat for the eyes, and might make your heart flutter as the two lead characters rekindle their romance against the backdrop of such beautiful location.
