Movie Digest
The story revolves around two people, Guo xiaolu and Su Lingfang. They meet as kids through their parents. As kids, they spend a lot of time together and are close to each other. Soon after tragedy hits them. Guo loses his father in an accident and he is also in a coma for a while after the accident. Su lingfang takes care of him during this period. Guo develops a special ability after the accident, he starts seeing things in slow motion and he develops fast reflexes. Su lingfang and Guo are separated from each other. Guo obsesses over Lingfang and is determined to find her. He joins the college lingfang always to go to in hopes of finding her. Their lives are further complicated as lingfang is a different person now and has dreams and aspirations. They meet new people and their lives keep progressing.
The Feel-Good Part
The story starts well and it quickly establishes The main plot. The movie has hints of real-life events to it which makes it historical. The plot is complicated and quite unpredictable. The movie has some inspiring characters.
The Disappointing Factor
The movie has a twisted plot. The movie has a lot of things going on and it’s draining to keep up with so much. The actors don’t do a good job of portraying emotions.
In-Depth Analysis
The story mainly revolves around two children growing into adults. Guo is obsessed with lingfang and is desperate to find her. His whole life is built around the idea that he and lingfang were meant to grow up together but couldn’t. Even Guo’s career is directed towards finding lingfang as he joins the college lingfang always wanted to go to. All the characters have good backstories to them. This movie teaches how time changes people and reality is usually very different from what we want it to be. The story is twisted and one of a kind. It is set in the late 1900s.
Star Power
The actor playing Guo does not do a good job of portraying his emotions. The character is said to have desperation in him but the actor fails to show that emotion. The other supporting actors also only do a mediocre job.
Overall Opinion
This movie is something that does not have a huge impact on the audience so it doesn’t make a difference if you watch this film or not. For some viewers, this film may be disappointing and it starts with setting high expectations.
