Movie Digest
Jian Hua Shen is a prosperous script-writer in modern day China. When he gets to know that his best friend has betrayed him, he gets into a feud and is brutally beaten. When he wakes up, he finds out that he has time travelled several years to Ancient China. Now living in the body of a person named Ning Yi, he is forced to marry Sun Ta Er, a woman whose family runs a successful clothing merchandise. He then incorporates his modern learnings and procedure in order to help his fellow members to battle against corruption.
The Feel-Good Part
The male lead Ning Yi definitely steals the show. He might not a visually appealing male lead but his humbleness, loyalty, intelligence and personality are enough to steal the audience hearts. Another good part of the Series would be the cast and their Character development which was quite pleasant to see. We get to see how Sun Ta Er family who were doubtful about her taking up family business (because she was a woman), eventually ended up supporting her and appreciating her hard work and talent. Another thing which was quite satisfying to see was the portrayal of the female characters. They showed how hardworking, passionate and dedicated they were towards their work and achieving their dreams. My Heroic Husband is mostly focused on comedy genre and the Series is definitely funny and hilarious. The entire cast did a great job in making it a success in terms of comedy.
The Disappointing Factor
The Series at the last quarter took a sharp turn, which I felt it kind of disrupted the flow of the show and it just felt out of sync.
In-Depth Analysis
The matrilocal feature of My Heroic Husband feels refreshing, original and atypical. Ning Yi beliefs and optimistic mentality showcased here are applauding. He is supportive towards his wife and genuinely wants to see her succeed in the clothing business. He helps her selflessly without any self-esteem or ego.The portrayal of self-dependent women who went against the typical stereotypes to prove their worth and value is satisfying to watch.
Star Power
Guo Li Qin as Ning Yi proved that he was perfect for the role. His humour and acting were spot on. Song Yi as Sun Tan Er understood her role well and conveyed it effortlessly. Also props to the supporting role cast, they did a great job too.
Overall Opinion
If you are looking for a show which can give you good laughs and humour, you should go for My Heroic Husband. It won’t disappoint.
