Movie Digest

“Junkrat Train” is it 2021 Chinese movie that shows people traveling in a train and being attacked by a tremendous number of ravenous rats. It starts with a Chinese health department junior clerk named Su Zhenghuai and his elder daughter and son traveling to visit relatives in the provincial city. And during that journey, they get attacked by rats.

The Feel-Good Part

The movie has a proper story, and the characters try their best to survive in the show. The CGI in the movie that shows the dynamics of the huge number of rats is amazing.

The Disappointing Factor

Despite having put so much effort into developing the show, the story seems kind of vague. It does not provide any unique idea and seems like nearly a copy of other horror thriller shows such as “King of Snake” or “Train to Busan”. It seemed like a showcase for CGI modeling since it had nothing to offer besides that. The film missed out on the detailing part and some scenes had no logic at all. The title of the show is also basic which does not give the viewers any idea of what the show offers.

In-Depth Analysis

Su Zheng Huai boarded a train with his family to the district city, where they reunite with his long-lost second daughter named Su Ling. Su Ling ran away from home long back to marry an army officer. After some time when the train departed, it encounters attacks from ravenous rats. Su Zheng Huai’s son gets bitten and passes out. He tries to rescue his son and the other passengers who got beaten. Later defined that the rats were caring a plague from another nation. He, along with his two daughters, takes the risk and went to Xiaobaihe Hospital to get the medicine. And that is where the adventure begins.

Star Power

The show is certainly not one of the best, but the cast tried their best and did a good job playing their roles. Yun Zhao De and Grâce Xia played the main roles.

Overall Opinion

The show is not as interesting as the storyline goes and it lacks a central idea and detailing that makes it seem logical. But if you are interested in horror trailer movies and especially like movies such as “Train to Busan” and “King of Snake” you might enjoy it.
