Drama Digest
The movie revolves around the reign of Empress Wu Zalian. Suddenly there was a rise in mysterious death cases in Chang’an, which was the capital city of the Tang Dynasty. This led to a significant increase in stories of the ‘Flying Goddess Mural’ murder cases in the Shrine of Remembrance. The rumors started spreading so much that the people were in panic, believing it could be an omen or a rise to a new kingdom. Meanwhile, the government officials appointed Di Renjie, famous for successfully solving cases in their local areas, to investigate this strong case. Detective Di Renjie has always been a famous personality. There are numerous movies based on his life and works, which were super hit. This film is also a part of his life, and how he settled peace. The movie is directed by Francis Nam and the screenwriting was done by Guo Shang. The film is called ‘Direnjie Tan An’ in the Chinese language. In this movie, he worked with Xiao Yaohuan to solve the mysterious murder cases. The proof led to a culprit named Li Luoyu, who eventually committed suicide. After several investigations, they successfully closed the case, eliminated the rumors, and also managed to solve a family feud that had been lying around for over more than two decades.
Star Power
The role of Di Renjie was successfully played by Mark Du. He did an incredible job portraying his personality and especially in the action scenes. Shu Yang played the role of Xiao Yaohuan and was a surprise as usual. The supporting cast did an excellent job too! Marmalade Zhang played the role of Li Luoyu; Geng Li Ming played the role of Qiu Niang; Yan Wei played the role of Yan Guogong; Guo Ming Yuan played the role of Li Jie, etc.
Overall Opinion
The film was a great watch. If you love action or historical movies, this is a must-watch!
