Movie Digest
The film depicts the narrative of a young woman who left her family and went to work as a barista in a huge metropolis. Her connection with her father was strained. Han Yuan fang returns to Baima after a three-year absence. She didn’t want to return to her hometown, but she had no other option. When she returned home, she didn’t see his father, but her father had already set up a job for her. She starts working as a highway toll collector right away. She wished to one day own a coffee shop.
The Feel Good Part
The cinematography and visual effects were fantastic. The director is a Chinese photographer and visual artist. The sceneries were carefully and beautifully constructed by him.
The Disappointing Factor
The plot is disjointed, and it’s difficult to piece it together. The female lead might be irritating at times. The writing is riddled with flaws.
In-Depth Analysis
Yuanfeng meets Da Li, an impulsive girl, and St. John, a clumsy guy, while working as a tollbooth collector. This subplot serves as a link between two separate stories. In the film, two stories are being told at the same time. One is about her daughter, and the other is about her father, who is working as a guide in the desert for a Russian named Andreev. The Russian, Andreev, was on the lookout for a space capsule that may have crashed in China. This is the film’s central theme.
Star Power
Yasu Liu, who played Yuanfeng, did an excellent job. Stepan Chernetskiy also performed admirably. Michelle Sun and Yijun Wang portray the supporting roles of Da Li and Yuehan, respectively.
Overall Opinion
Visually, the film is impressive, but the plot might have been developed out more. It was befuddling at times. Overall, you won’t have an awful experience.
