Drama Digest

Chonlatee, who is soft and kind-hearted, has always had a crush on Tonhon, who has treated him like his own brother the whole time, taking care of him all along. However, Chonlatee can only stare wistfully from afar at P’Ton and his girlfriend. Things finally start looking up for Chonlatee when P’Ton updates his relationship status to single.

Their proximity changes into something more profound, even though P’Ton is neck-deep in denial. While he consistently insists that he strictly sees Chonlatee as a brother, he also gets jealous when the latter goes out with another person.

How will the story of these two unfold as Amp, P’Ton’s ex-girlfriend, comes back to complicate things?

The Feel-Good Part

This drama features some great acting from the leads, who try their utmost to salvage this hot mess of a drama. The poor writing does not manage to subdue their command over their craft. The characters were initially likable, especially with Chon, but everything went haywire.

The Disappointing Factor

This drama is the utter misrepresentation of a queer relationship and it romanticizes toxicity to surreal levels. Tonhon’s character is terribly written, he is the poster boy of every red flag that would make a man undateable and generally irritating. He tries to shove his masculinity down our throats, and his kissing Amp to prove his masculinity was unnecessary and felt like it needed more condemnation. Tonhon’s character arc from internally homophobic boy to the most fabulous gay man ever happens in minutes, and the transition does not make sense. His decisions seem illogical, and he is overall insufferable. Women are treated horribly in this, and it gives an insight into how the writers view them. The creators could have gently handled the abuse faced by Ton at the hands of his father, but instead it is dismissed as quickly as possible.

In-Depth Analysis

Although the actors try their best to save the show, there is not much worth keeping in the grand scheme of things. The characters are all primarily toxic, even Chon, who started off strong as a soft-hearted boy with good intentions, takes a turn for the worse as he screws with Ton’s coming out process for his gain. The characters are hardly likable, and it becomes difficult to root for them in any shape or form. This could have worked excellently if only the characters were not reduced to tropes found on Wattpad and explored queerness and coming out more gently than it has been done here. The misogyny does not help the story in any way either.

Star Power

Suphakorn and Thanawat, simply, are the only good things about the show and do not seriously mess it up. It would be fun to see them together in a different setting and story as their background, one that utilizes their potential as actors positively.

Overall Opinion

This is easily one show that you can skip watching, do not waste your time over something that is only going to anger you for the most part with its callousness.
