Drama Digest

Tofu is Nut’s favorite white teddy bear and has provided comfort to him for ten years. He is not just any teddy bear. He can communicate with things in the house. One day, the teddy bear miraculously transforms into a young man and has no memory of his identity. Tofu tried to learn about his past, but things got complicated when he realized there was a connection to the sinister family secrets of his owner. His time as a human was coming to an end. Will Tofu be able to uncover all the secrets he seeks to know and find the answers? And would a further miracle make it possible for him to get what he wants?

The Feel-Good Part

The drama does a righteous job of addressing homophobia. It is pervasive in Thai society, and the creators do not attempt to pass off the main characters as straight men.

The Disappointing Factor

The ending is comparatively disappointing in the drama. There were hints in the drama that gave away the idea of what the ending would be.

In-Depth Analysis

The drama is adapted from the novel Khun Mee Patihan by Prap. This Thai series is about Nut, a scriptwriter, and his favorite teddy bear, Tofu, who comes to life as a handsome young man. Tofu’s first challenge is to stay in Nut’s house while he is mistaken for an intruder. He tries to figure out why he became human and his purpose. The plot is intricate, with several threads skillfully woven together. Although it attempts to be a teen romance program occasionally, for the most part, it reads like a dramatic TV soap opera targeted at an older audience. Themes like mental health issues, homophobia, dysfunctional families, abuse, toxic relationships, infidelity, corruption, murder, greed, etc., are all crammed in too tightly but also expressed vividly throughout the drama. It can be a trigger for some audiences. The show also provides us with a potential murder mystery to solve, in addition to a love story about the soul of a teddy bear and a human being flourishing. The fantasy and romance components are what keep the drama fresh and distinct.

Star Power

Sarin Ronnakiat (Tofu) was able to bring out the attributes of a teddy bear into a human beautifully. Job Thuchapon Koowongbundi did a great job with the challenging role of Nut, who is complex and has issues to work through. You can see each character develop well as episodes pass.

Overall Opinion

It is an engaging drama of romance and mystery filled with varied emotions. Do give it a try!
