Realization dawns upon the professor that the girl is a makkali who arrived here through a hole in time. After saving her from her perpetrators, the equation between the two soon turns romantic. But the question arises, how will this unusual love story fair up in this world? Watch the series to find out the answer.

 The Feel-Good Part

Taking the break from the usual BL drama series, the series is a heartwarming tale of a human and a makkali (a fruit). The exotic locations, the calming background music, and the intriguing storyline make the series a treat for the eyes. The engaging cinematography and praiseworthy visual effects add up to the appeal of the show.

 The Disappointing Factor

The screenplay of the show lacks the depth that may province disappointing for the audience. Also, in certain places, the actors felt as if they overact which adds to the disappointment of the show. Another disappointment of the show is that the show makers did not provide English subtitles for the audience who are not fluent in Thai.

 In-Depth Analysis

Produced by Suagsuda Cholumpi, Makkali: The Love Tree stars Mac Wiranakarn Wattanakun as charming professor Tankul,  with Lingling Sirilak Kwong starring as his leading lady. She plays the role of Theerak, the makkali girl who falls in love with the professor. The show focuses on an unusual love story between a human and a makkali (as per Thai folklore, Makkali is magical fruit, shaped like a female. The fruit was common during the bygone era of kings and kingdoms). The show is heartwarming and each episode will give the audience ample entertainment.

 Star Power

Mac Wiranakarn Wattanakun as the renowned astronomy professor Tankul is all things dreamy. He played his role admirably and showed what sheer brilliance looks like. Lingling Sirilak Kwong as the Makkali girl, Theerak played her role with utmost conviction, as if the role was made for her. Both the actors complimented each other perfectly and looks adorable together on screen. Their cute banter and mushy moments are fun to watch and too cute to miss out on. The rest of the cast too played their role brilliantly to take the show’s narrative forward.
