Drama Digest

After an aide professor dies in a deadly accident, her heart is revamped into Tian. He discovers about his donor’s life through a set of diary entries that share her secrets and concerns. Included is her promise to count a thousand stars with Chief Forest Officer Phupha. Tian suddenly chooses to follow in her footprints and fulfill her commitment. Now a new volunteer teacher himself, Tian tries to befriend Phupha, who initially gives him the cold shoulder. As the two gradually grow more intimate, Tian notices his new heartbeats racing whenever near the officer.

ATOTS’ storyline is so different in the BL world. It’s a game-changer from the typical university-themed Y series we used to see in this genre. I am not a fan of slow-paced series, but ATOTS is an exception. The story is not so swift, resulting in more enjoyment of every scene. The last scene on episode 9 will be more precise, though, if they managed to touch us (as per the novel’s basis as well), but it was still okay due to their dominant scene execution.

The Feel-Good Part

What I admire the most in this series is how they bestowed the contrast among social levels and taught the watchers how to assess their lives-showing the distinction between people in the higher and lower class of the society results in awareness and perception among its members. A rich boy recognizes how happy living a simplistic life in the village, however, if the villagers get a choice will they want to stay where they are? It’s a reality vs. practicality question. Khama’s concepts of wisdom tell us more about the message that this show needed to suggest.

The Disappointing Factor

The story doesn’t show many factors that can be considered as negative traits. Only one thing that caught my attention was there could be more scenes to showcase the talent of the side actors.

In-depth Analysis

The acting is so simple and effective, but I want to give a special tribute to Mix Sahaphap. He is a rookie actor, but the way he portrays feels like he is doing performing for decades. The sentiments were performed properly, and it exceeds my computer screen. Meanwhile, I don’t think anyone is fitter for the cast of Phupha other than Earth. Earth’s strong eyes and effective line delivery are what made me fascinated. I would also love to admire the other actors in this series. They gave legitimacy to the characters they are representing. Tul and Longtae are the best friends of the year, the charming kids in the village, the other forest rangers, Mr. Khama, and of course Dr. Nam, all of them are sure to cherish.

Overall Opinion

This series is an excellent way to commence the year 2021. It transcends all my expectations in almost every perspective of this show. This series is rare when it comes to chemistry, acting, OST, and particularly the message they desired to emanate.
