The documentary is a compilation of six episodes, and it reveals everything behind the success of the drama ‘I promised you the moon’. It revolves around two lovers Teh and Oh-aew, who moved to Bangkok with the ambition of fulfilling their dreams. Yet as it is with time, people change, and their relationship falters in meaning with each passing day. As Teh grows feelings for Jai, things take a different turn. Filled with exquisite explanations and many behind-the-scene stories, this documentary cruises through what made it possible.

The Feel-Good Part

If the drama was palpably rhythmic, then the documentary won’t fail to capture all those moments that went into creating such a spectacular series.

In-Depth Analysis

The story is one of the primary pillars of a series or film. After the vast uproar over ‘I told sunset about you’ (2020), ‘I promised you the moon’ came with another chain of surprises. The documentary began with the meeting of the new director and crew. It paved its way through the depth of the moments. After that, Billkin, PP Krit and Meen guide us through the journey of filming everything. The editing of the documentary deserves ground-breaking applause. It merged the sound effects with the mood of the scenes filmed and then incorporated certain scenes from the series. Altogether it put everything nicely into place. The titles in the episodes nurture the stories behind every perfect shot, such as the crab bites or casting a real artist manager to include a realistic viewpoint. Furthermore, it beautifully explains how the characters’ personality is defined by choosing their dress or changing their hair color and then amalgamating that with their emotions. It also shows what went into creating the intimate scenes and symbolically inserting meanings behind them. The documentary appealingly carries the sequence of episodes to highlight the intricacies that went behind the forming of an artistic paragon.

Star Power

The crew was excellent in capturing tiny simplicities in the series that added to form the complexity of beauty. Meen Tossaphon Riantong’s direction, as seen in the documentary, and his theoretical understanding of giving picture to perspective, are so elegantly expressed in the documentary. The main cast, Billkin Putthipong Assaratanakul and PP Krit Amnuaydechkorn’s outlook on what made the show inexplicable was a breathtaking experience. Even seeing the scenes form from their words gave goosebumps in itself. Not to mention the exquisite cinematography by Koi Boonyanuch Kraithong and Ratchanon Kaeosaart, the ‘Bad Genius’ experts, was very apt. It elegantly portrayed the aestheticism revolving through the characters in different circumstances. Also, it beautifully captured the immensity of sentiments from every nook and corner. Without lengthening the list, the documentary rightly showed the crew’s and the actors’ creativity. Their representation of bringing the drama alive is too exquisite to put to words. Let the show speak for itself.

Overall Opinion

Even after completing both seasons, if you’re stuck in the domain of exhilarating feelings, then let this documentary put a solacing end to all your pending questions.
