Drama Digest

What if your relationship is arranged? What if the person you love does not treat you right? What if you fall in love with the person post the relationship ends?

Cutie-pie is a series that explores an arranged relationship between the two male leads, Lian Kilen Wang and Kuea Kirin Keerati. This arrangement was planned and decided by their parents and grandparents.

Kuea is a free-spirited, energetic and vibrant musician, and Lian is a dull but fantastic businessman. Kuea is willing to explore and build the rapport with Lian, but Lian is unwilling.

Lian disrespect and does not treat Kuea right. Kuea is fed up and breaks off with him. After their break-up, Lian starts having feelings for Kuea, and asks him for a second chance.

Both start, living together but are unsure of their future. Will they fall in love or will they go their separate ways forms the series?

The Feel-Good Part

The storyline is different and explores the bond between two males. The visuals, the chemistry, and the sound effects are fabulous.

The comic timing of certain side characters is on point.

The Disappointing Factor

While the storyline is different, it is still very thin. Some of the scenes are a bit stretched and drab.

Also, the reason behind their arranged marriage is weird as at the start Lian is not interested in Kuea, but still goes ahead with giving him and their rapport a chance.

In-Depth Analysis

When two people are supposed to come together, the universe conspires to bring them. Lian and Kuea are forced to become a couple when their families arrange everything.

Both Kuea and Lian have known each other from childhood, and at the start they are not in love. So, the reason for their families to bring them together is bizarre.

The couple are opposites. Kuea is a vibrant musician, drummer, and vocalist, while Lian is a gloomy yet intelligent businessman.

When their relationship is arranged, Kuea is willing to give them and their rapport a try, but Lian is against it. He does not treat Kuea right and always puts him down.

Kuea breaks up with him. Post their split, Lian realizes that he has feelings for him and asks for a second chance. They move in together but are uncertain of their future as they do see eye to eye on several things, yet love blossoms.

Will the second time be lucky for them, or will they break up again, forever forming the basis of the series?

Star Power

Both the male leads, NuNew Chawarin and Zee Pruk Panich, have acted well, and emoted well in the sensitive scenes.

The other actors, especially Nat Natasitt as Khondiao who is Kuea best friend has also done a great job.

Overall Opinion

The series explores same-sex relationships, and if you like the genre, then give it a watch.
