Drama Digest

A monarch is forced to travel to a different planet in search of answers after a portal to a parallel dimension opens up in contemporary Korea. A detective works to defend the people and the person she loves while the Korean monarch Lee Gon attempts to shut the doors to a parallel realm was created by demons.

The Feel-Good Part

A flawless epic, heartfelt, and thrilling experience with a tremendous moving OST. The performance by Woo Do Hwan was fantastic. The simple delivery of his affection for his lord and his protective character caught the attention. Yes, we may have sensed such lovely different vibes from other dramas worldwide, but this drama is quite intriguing. All the lines and emotions expressed in it were so profound. Because they are aware that they might not spend all of eternity together but have chosen to accept their circumstances, for the time being, King Lee Gon and Lieutenant Tae Eul’s sweet/sad romance is a welcome change from other draggy romantic clichés.

The Disappointing Factor

It would help if you gave the first six episodes your full attention. Do not skip them because they are slow since they represent the foundation of the primary big reveal narrative of the show, and if you do, you will find the final four episodes of the series to be incredibly perplexing. The pacing of the film was somewhat sluggish, and there were several light situations that gave you the chills. Some scenes will seem to drag.

In-Depth Analysis

The third Korean emperor of his era is Lee Gon. He is regarded as the ideal leader by his subjects. But there is a severe wound concealed beneath this perfect exterior. His father was assassinated in front of him when he was eight years old after a coup. Today, he prefers to leave the palace to attend academic conferences rather than doing his filial duties. During one of his adventures, he witnesses himself being launched into a parallel reality where he meets Inspector Jeong Tae Eul and works up with him to stop the criminals while also closing the door between their two universes.

Star Power

In contrast to his earlier drama roles, Lee Min-portrayal Ho’s of the king was a very different experience for me. He presented himself as the monarch with a stance that conveyed dignity and grace. It is abundantly clear from the writing and his onscreen performance that he was the most qualified, and ideal actor for the part, and no one could compare. He seemed to be living inside the role, as seen by the heroic walk and emotions he exhibited.

Overall Opinion

The idea of time travel and parallel universes was depicted epically in the screenplay, cinematography, and narrative, all well-delivered to the viewers. It is not at all overrated and deserves to be loved and praised. Fans of science fiction and fantasy stories will enjoy it.
