Drama Digest

Bong Joo Yi and Ji Yeon So have been best friends since middle school all throughout college. They are determined to make their dreams of first love come true, which leads them to move into a co-ed house shared by three other men. Things start to get more complicated with the two because of their housing situation as none of the men seem to reciprocate their feelings. Will their love life change in Sol-House?

The Feel-Good Part

The show is quite short and easy to watch because of it. The tone is really light-hearted and joyous, which gives the audience breezy and cheerful viewing experience. The show is quite funny and the actors have strong comic timing. The chemistry between the characters is strong. The development of the story and the characters are quite interesting to watch as the progression is fast paced and the misunderstandings that arise in the process are quite amusing to watch. The story is quite dynamic as there are many characters and hence many relationships for the writers to play with, which gives us a variety of different relationships, which is quite intriguing to watch.

The Disappointing Factor

The story is pretty cliché and doesn’t stray away from the common plot-points of this genre, which makes it predictable and may make it boring to watch. Some of the plot points and situations are quite outlandish, which may distract the viewer. Due to the short runtime there were a lot of characters that didn’t feel developed as they didn’t get much screen time or a well written character arc. Although the pacing was relatively consistent, the ending felt rushed, which is disappointing.

In-Depth Analysis

The web drama is short and sweet. It delivers on all the promises it makes at the beginning, which is satiating. There are certain places where the show is underdeveloped but it quite entertaining on the whole. The web drama is well executed for the most part, it may come off as outlandish at times but it’s quite fun to watch once overlooked as these dramas are short and aren’t meant to be taken too seriously. They show you a good time in a short time span.

Star Power

All the performances were excellent. The actors were believable in their respective parts, which is admirable as some members of the cast are rookie actors. Each actor provides the show with something new and hence make each character distinct from one another.

Overall Opinion

The series doesn’t have anything new to offer. It is a simple story executed well that doesn’t require you to spend too much time. It is quite entertaining and funny for the most part and delivers on the premises with new, promising actors. Not much is lost if you skip this one but it makes for a feel-good and comforting watch after a long week. It is sdecent enough for you to give it a shot!
