Drama Digest

Jang Ha Ri is the workaholic. She didn’t had a boyfriend in the past decade. Long ago, she decided not to look for love and she has thrown her energy on her career. She works as a senior reporter for the magazine named “The baby” and is reminded of the thing she needs the most is a baby of her own. She tries for a baby but wants to avoid marriage. But she suddenly turns her mind to being a single parent and realizes that she is surrounded by admirers Han Yi Sang, who is a freelance photographer, a smart paediatrician Yoon Jae Young, and Choi Kang Eu Ddeum, the office newbie. Will anyone among the three be able to help Jang Ha Ri? Could her quest inadvertently send her on the path to true love?

The Feel-Good Part

The main story is presented in a non-controversial manner. One of the best parts was that it showed that infertility affects men also. The characters explored themes at all the stages like the subfertile couple’s journey, the main couple’s struggles, depression and others. It was good to see the struggles of a single father.

The Disappointing Factor

The story maintained a balance for a while but seeped through unnecessary conflicts. Kang Eu Tteum and Hyo Joo’s story was not required. It served as a filler.

In-Depth Analysis

This drama is a romantic-comedy and self-actualizing. The drama didn’t take the rom-com part seriously. It used some cheesy stuff to add comic value. The drama also portrays the slice-of-life that everyone has stories of their own. In the mid, the men in Ha Ri’s life were annoying as they were not able to grasp their realities. The relationship between Ha Ri and her mother seems to be complicated. The affection that they had for each other is touching. The relationship between the main lead and Ha Ri is affectionate. The significant weight that they put on Ha Ri’s career is appreciated.

Star Power

The female lead did a fantastic job with her character. The female and second male leads were great. The cast was perfect and well-suited for their roles.

Overall Opinion

Oh My Baby is an enjoyable drama. The romantic part was paced accordingly and the drama had perfect vibes. It was as refreshing to watch.
