Drama Digest
This drama revolves around four high school students as to earn money they started to commit crimes. They face many unpredictable dangers as a result. Ji Soo goes from a model student to a criminal after committing an unthinkable act. Min Hee is a school bully, who gets caught up in Ji Soo’s crime. Gyu Ri, is Ji Soo’s dangerous partner in crime while Ki Tae is Min Hee’s boyfriend.
The Feel-Good Part
The dialogues and dynamics between the characters were snappy. The plot was exquisite and unique. The acting, directing, music and production were all fabulous. The character development was good to watch.
The Disappointing Factor
The show is difficult to watch due to the dark themes. The violence in the drama is massive such as suicide attempts, rape, mental illness, bullying and other triggering qualities.
In-Depth Analysis
The main characters were ambiguous. The world that is depicted in extracurricular is fascinating to watch. The cast delivered their roles fantastically. The plot was partially reliable but didn’t take away from the story. Every turn was perceiving and dreading to watch. This drama isn’t a high school drama, it is raw and shows the dark side of high school students. The drama doesn’t fail to leave the audience on the edge of their seat. One of the main characters handles the security service for sex labourers. The drama shows the harsh hierarchy system of our society and the importance of the social determinants of health. The drama is thought-provoking and written excellently.
Star Power
Kim Dong Hee as Ji Soo was a perfect choice. Jung Da Bin played Min Hee and Nam Yoon Soo as Ki Tae were good to see as a couple. Park Joo Hyun portrayed Gyu Ri perfectly. Every member of the cast acted well in their parts.
Overall Opinion
The drama offers a refreshing take on the genre that it takes. It is not cheesy and first love high school drama. The drama has mature and triggering subjects. For psychological thriller fans, it is a must-watch show.
