Drama Digest
Shim Deok Chool is a 70-year-old post office employee who recently retired. He had always wanted to perform ballet, but due to his circumstances, he had to put it on hold and work a menial job to help support his family. He chose to pursue his goal again now that he was retired, despite his family’s opposition. Lee Chae Rok is a 23-year-old guy who participated in a variety of sports as a child but was not particularly gifted in any of them. After that, he became interested in ballet. His mother was a ballet dancer who died when he was a child due to sickness. His father was declared bankrupt. He believed he had a talent for ballet, but after pursuing it, he lost touch with his father and struggled financially. His enthusiasm for ballet fades quickly. Sim Deok Chool happens to be there at the time.
The Feel-Good Part
The drama has a powerful message to convey, such as dealing with your age, being on the edge of life, and overcoming all difficulties through hard work and persistence. The character growth of the characters presented was enjoyable to watch. The drama’s main premise is to portray dance as a form of art and to explain life through it. Its spirit pulls at your heartstrings. The plot is well-developed, so you won’t be left wondering what happened to the characters.
The Disappointing Factor
Some members of the audience thought the performance to be too slow for their tastes, and they failed to connect with the characters. Because the first few episodes are so depressing, it may take some time for the viewers to warm up to it. Aside from that, the audience did not appear to be dissatisfied with the show.
In-Depth Analysis
Navillera was originally a webtoon that screenwriter Lee Eun Mi adapted for the small screen with the aim of bringing this touching, unconventional connection between an old and young man through their shared passion for ballet to reality. It tackled ageism, mortality, mental and physical ailments, and social prejudice, as well as other social issues. Coming across an older character was a breath of fresh air. The majority of it is dependent on social norms and expectations. Chae Rok’s part was great, despite the fact that he is the stereotypical young and attractive character. The backstories of the supporting characters were also given attention.
Star Power
Park In Hwan played Shim Deok Chul, and Song Kang played Lee Chae Rok’s character. With reference to their characteristics, the two of them displayed good friendship and captivated the audience with their performance.

This play is heartwarming and charming. It includes themes such as familial love, friendship, warmth, melancholy, and happiness, as well as revenge and a plot twist.
