Drama digest

My Roommate is a Gumiho is a romance-comedy-drama. It is directed by Park Joon Hwa and Nam Sung Woo and is based on Na’s webtoon of the same name. Shin Woo Yeo (Jang Ki Yong) is on the verge of realizing his biggest ambition after traversing the planet for the past 999 years. After accumulating human energy in his treasured bead for the previous thousand years, this thousand-year-old gumiho is finally ready to lose his fox form and become entirely human. Or, at least, he was until an unwitting pupil named Lee Dam (Hyeri) wrecked everything.

The feel-good part

The highlight of the show is that it is not predictable. The writing could have been your usual trope and convenient. But this stays new and fresh. This rom-com drama included many amusing moments, unique situations, and romantic scenes.

The characters and their chemistry are fantastic. We cannot get enough of Woo-yeo and Dam. Seon-woo, our second lead, also provides viewers with enough second-lead syndrome.

Jae-jin and Hye-sun are two other famous characters. They are a cute and humorous couple. Their chemistry is fantastic, and they are actual couple goals.

Although most situations are cliché, there are a few surprises that we did not see coming. The narrative and tale have appeal, so they attract such a large audience.

The disappointing factor

It is a pleasant drama, but there are times when it fails to clear logic leaps. Some might be explained later in the show, but some are simply left for the audience to brainstorm. The mythology present in the drama also lacks facts and must be ignored. Simply it is that there are instances when the information feels a little haphazard and fragmented.

In-depth analysis

The beautiful thing about My Roommate is a Gumiho is how new it manages to look. Even though at first glance, it appears to be just like any other romcom strewn over Drama land. Yes, there are tropes, but they are mostly there to be spun on their heads. The female lead, who is anything, not a Candy, is adorable. She may appear silly on the surface, but she’s kind and classy, and she has such a fine head on her shoulders that it’s difficult not to like her. The finale might seem a little lacking, especially when contrasted to how strong the rest of the program is, but it’s still a charming drama to suggest.

Star Power

Hye Ri and Jang Ki Yong are well-cast and well-directed; Their chemistry works well and is pretty enjoyable on screen. As an added bonus, Kang Han Na shines as a sassy ex-gumiho.

Overall opinion

It is a must-watch feel-good drama. Additionally, the conclusion is both happy and emotional. It has a delightful ending. Because this is a rom-com drama, many viewers anticipate this.
