Drama Digest

Three different stories highlighting different problems, about a novelist who moves to a new neighbourhood and meets police officer Kim, who is the only person who believes her when she reports strange things are going on in her house, marriage life with domestic violence and supermodel who, almost quickly, becomes a murder suspect When she returned from a phone conversation, she discovered her partner had been brutally slain. Ji Eun was imprisoned after following a mysterious voice and leaving a dead body in a forest bunker.

The Feel-Good Part

“Midnight Thriller” is a three-part collection containing three short stories. Each story has its own set of strengths and weaknesses, and some parts are handled more effectively in one story than in another. Overall, you will be impressed by all of the stories. Surprisingly, the entire production is thorough and technically excellent, providing drama quality while also incorporating aesthetic tones.

The Disappointing Factor

The only thing missing is music, which is similar to that heard in a horror-themed Escape Room or a Haunted House. Despite this, the music was well suited to the drama’s tone.

In-Depth Analysis

Story 1: Ah Rin, a novelist in her twenties, comes into a new neighbourhood and meets police officer Kim, the only person who believes her when she claims odd things are happening in her home.

Story 2: The story of Yeon Hee, who looks to be happy in her marriage but is actually a victim of domestic violence. When posts on the SNS account that impersonates Yeon Hee’s advocate self-harm, Yeon Hee becomes increasingly vulnerable.

Story 3: Ji Eun, a supermodel who becomes a murder suspect almost immediately. She left the living room when she got a phone call and returned to find her partner horribly murdered. After following a mystery voice and abandoning a dead body in a bunker somewhere in the forest, Ji Eun became imprisoned.
