Drama Digest
Mio Meguro is a timid girl who fears being hated by others which makes her abstain from expressing whatever she might be thinking. After having a bad relationship with her ex-boyfriend, whom she wanted to marry, Mio ends up unemployed. Her life slides into an abyss until she ends up getting a sharehouse, where the youkai reside. The drama revolves around the youkai attempting to take care of Mio’s concerns, thus offering a comical horror parody.
The Feel-Good Part
Alongside offering lighthearted entertainment, the actual focus of the drama is on embracing one’s uniqueness. By believing in one’s self and with the backing of others around, one can transcend into valuing and accepting the ‘self’ for who they are.
The Disappointing Factor
The drama is very erratic in nature and has a plot that can be seen as childish. These factors may be taken into consideration by an adult who is planning to watch the series, and hence the drama might not be interesting enough to pursue.
In-Depth Analysis
Even though the drama has a very erratic nature, it is very much unique in its way. Sometimes keeping things simple and entertaining can deliver the content more efficiently while keeping it fun as well. The use of animation to narrate the backstories adds up to the excellence of this drama, and the scenes that follow up bring justice to it. The comic element is never missing out from the episodes, and it is not overly done. One can have a good time watching this lighthearted drama as it offers laidback entertainment.
Star Power
Koshiba Fuka, like all her other works, was full of energy across all the episodes in her acting. The co-actors who starred alongside Fuka were great too, which resulted in providing a dynamic package of entertainment.
Overall Opinion
This drama is really entertaining and interesting. It was very great and I preferred how it finished. Every episode presenting and making sense of the tale of a Yokai was exceptionally pleasant for us who have hardly any insight into them. Truly loved who the fundamental person transformed into towards the end of the drama.
