Drama Digest

This is a Japanese comedy drama featuring a unique kind of romance. The show features two different men and two different women whose relationships have been affected by the word ‘lie’ due to different reasons. This is a story of them finding love in one another.

The Feel-Good Part

The story is interesting throughout the show and has the perfect length which means it’s not too long or too short. Everyone’s acting is pretty great. The show is filled with great humor too.

The Disappointing Factor

Though it’s kind of a unique concept, the entanglement of a love story with a card game is boring and somewhat unacceptable. Also, the show bases itself upon lies too much at the beginning which is annoying to watch.

In-Depth Analysis

The four protagonists Kasai Riko, Kamoshita Junnosuke, Shinohara Yuri, and Haruhiko are four different people with four different personalities. In their lives, love had always played the biggest part but in different ways. Out of these four, Riko has suffered betrayal in her love life in the past and hence currently moved to Tokyo in order to start a new life with someone new and someone true. Her hometown is Aomori which she had to leave to move to Tokyo. Riko had just gotten out of a romantic relationship of ten years and hence was not in a very stable state of mind. She was heartbroken and betrayed by her fiancé on the day of her engagement as she learns that he had lied to her. After coming to Tokyo, she moves in with her cousin, Yuri, the second female protagonist of the series. As her relationship had been ruined because of lies, she finds it hard to trust anyone. On the other hand, there is Junnosuke, who never starts a relationship without lying about himself. These two meet by accident at a restaurant and Junnosuke is instantly annoyed by Riko. Soon after, these both develop feelings for each other after learning that they both handle each other the best even though they started things off a lie. The other couple of the show is Riko’s cousin, Yuri, and a freelancer named Haruhiko. To make their lives more interesting, all these four people decided to take part in an online werewolf game. But they somehow still end up meeting each other in the game which leads to the development of feelings between them.

Star Power

Honda Tsubasa, who plays Kasai Riko, definitely stood out because of her portrayal of a different character than what she normally does in the other series.

Overall Opinion

It is a light-hearted humor-filled show that portrays love through denial. This show is appropriate for all ages.
