Drama Digest

Takanashi Hinako is a 30-year-old secretary at Relation Gate who has worked there for the previous eight years. Every day, the company’s charismatic president would assign her several “difficult jobs,” leaving her single for the past six years with no time to plan her future. One day, the president assigns Hinako the “difficult task” of becoming the president of a subsidiary of the corporation.

The Feel-Good Part

The plot revolves around the daily work life of an awkward, clumsy but earnest Office Lady become company president and her team; ambitions, hang-ups, challenges, and self-fulfillment are all explored. We can see how this scenario follows the structural characteristics of a “self-realization initiation trip.” “Call to initiation, ordeal, and self-transformation” are three crucial aspects in the classic story. You can expect that, like many other shows that follow this format, there will be no mind-altering content. What makes this drama a teeny weeny bit remarkable in my opinion is that it has decent enough acting, engaging characters, and doesn’t take itself too seriously (despite the business theme). It’s just a nice, breezy, comfortable, and a little inspiring timepiece.

The Disappointing Factor

This is your standard Jdrama workplace story. A lighthearted, uplifting, slice-of-life romcom with a business theme.

In-Depth Analysis

Takanashi Hinako is a 30-year-old lady who has spent the last eight years working as a secretary at Relation Gate. Every day, the company’s charismatic president would assign her several “difficult jobs,” leaving her single for the past six years with no time to consider her options. The president assigns Hinako the “impossible job” of becoming the president of the company’s subsidiary one day.

Star Power

Hinako works as a secretary for the president of the “Relation Gate” company (Asami), an overachieving boss to whom she’s been obedient for the past eight years, disregarding her personal life in the process. Asami makes a “Unreasonable Request” to Hinako, the clumsy but tireless secretary, to become the president of “Relation Foods,” the company’s subsidiary. As a result, the drama’s title is “Muchaburi!”

Overall Opinion

A happy, contented person. In terms of plot, it’s a straightforward drama. However, Definitely recommend it to all Jdrama and romcom fans.
