Drama Digest

Lion House is a hospice located on an island. People were living on the island with a short life expectancy. Shizuku, a young girl, came to live on that island; she, was told how long she had to live. She is regretful that before coming to the island, she was not able to improve her relationship with her family. In Lion’s house, snack time is a time when everyone could ask for snacks from their memories, but Shizuku was unable to do that. In the last days of her life, what does she find and leave behind?

The Feel-Good Part

The good part about this series is it is a life story of many people who suffer this deadly disease. It is relatable to real-life situations. All the elements, plot, characters, and even the cinematography was perfect. Lion’s house gives you a lot of hints of what life could be. Some parts of the story can be felt by the viewers. The storyline was written and executed in a simple, straightforward, and impressive way.

The Disappointing Factor

The only disappointment is the four deaths. These deaths poured sadness into the whole story. Overall, it is an exciting drama that does not have space for disappointment. I feel the acting was perfect in every way.

In-Depth Analysis

The story is heart-wrenching but moving deeply. The lion’s house is a place for cancer patients to pass the remaining days of their life in peace. All the guest are taken care of by the owner; despite, the efforts by Madonna-san, the owner guest face difficulties. A charm of the lion’s house is the snacks. The dining room has many letters written by guests requesting snacks. The most intriguing part is all the snacks are prepared in the house itself. The saddest part is the death of the four inhabitants. It weaves sadness in the story. It brings out the regrets of the characters. It also gives prominence to the stories that are hidden inside the heart of the character, comforted by the warm embrace of the lion’s life, and those stories are delivered to us. With the fantastic art and the master cinematography, it made us feel some beautiful places and experience them. Each episode left with immense hollowness, and it was unpredictable what the next attack may bring. This drama has bought up a standpoint of mourning;  how things left behind by a deceased person present their life and what they wanted to communicate to their loved ones left behind. The thing that hooked me was that each character has their own story to tell. The character development of the main was fortunate and well developed. The relationship of the characters feel realistic, and the plot tends to unfold the different stories of the lifeless beautifully. What struck me was Lion’s house is the cinematography, aesthetics and how raw the characters were. Even though it is selfish to fall in love when you are so near to death. But we can control our feelings, and it is not easy to face death. This drama can make you burst out into tears.

Star Power

The actors did their jobs amazingly. The transition between the characters was smooth. The relationship between the main character is unique. All the characters were peaceful to watch.

Overall Opinion

The story is meaningful. This show feels like a roller coaster of emotions.  It’s considerably a short drama but is worth watching. It is a life story. It is a remarkable show and recommended to every person out there.
