Drama Digest

The series has been inspired by a manga of the same name, written by Gekidan Mesuneko and illustrated by Hukari Shibata.

It follows the lives of three women Sumire Kumagai who is a beauty advisor, Sara Shida, a newbie, and Akari Yoshida, another advisor, and the role of make-up in the lives of Japanese women.

All three work in a cosmetic and beauty section of a large retail store. Their job is to convince clients of the importance of make-up and its impact on their lives. Each client who visits the store has a back story such as not being confident, being a tomboy, or does not feel beautiful among others. These women have issues with their appearance and turn to the three for advice.

Sumire also shows the tricks to convert customers into their clients. She does this by looking good herself by using make-up and applying it to the customers so that they can see themselves. When they see their made-up look, the happiness on their faces is apparent. The show also looks beyond wherein the self-esteem and confidence of the customers increase.

The show also shows the internal conflicts and personal dynamics of the three women. It highlights the role of make-up in the lives of Japanese women and culture
