Drama Digest –
A murder has taken place at a bar, the prime suspect is missing, and four detectives have taken up the case. Over-friendly Iguchi, Watanabe, who likes to bet on everything, the childish Imae, and the serious Kiyota are the detectives working on it. One night as the four of them stake out the area where the murder took place, dirty secrets of each of theirs begin to come out one by one. The detectives are no longer righteous and turn against each other in their greed and narrow-mindedness. Who will survive?
The Feel-Good Part –
The drama is mysterious making the viewer curious about the morally gray characters and their secrets. Moreover, the implications these secrets have on each of their lives are also unpredictable. The mystery unveils itself as the plot progresses.
The Disappointing Factor –
The script is very feeble and is thus not captivating enough. Lines of comedy run through serious situations and alarming issues without consistency and therefore feel out of place. The lighting and set fail to capture the seriousness of the scenes. They do not agree with the mood of the script. Few characters also passed disturbing comments on a middle school girl in the drama.
In-Depth Analysis –
The drama is testimony to the fact that everyone has a good and a bad side to them; that everyone has secrets they wish to hide. Society always sees detectives as good people and therefore does not accommodate negative characteristics to the stereotypes they assign said, detectives. However, this drama shows how no social role is inherently good; it is the people who play the role who choose to make it good or bad.
Star Power –
Each actor played their role well, even though the script lacked continuity at times. It is, as they say, ‘actors can make or break a project. Araki Hirofumi, Jinnai Sho, Maeyama Takahisa and Nakao Masaki played the main roles.
Overall Opinion –
If you are on the lookout for something quick to watch between busy schedules, then this drama would be apt as it has only four episodes, each about 20 minutes long.
