Drama Digest

The drama focuses on Taro. He is in his fifties. He is part of a major company that is well known to most people. He is an ordinary worker. He is already happy living with his family. He looks back at the tie when he promised to meet his girlfriend thirty years ago. A part of him wonders if she is doing well and is happy. He looks back on his past memories and wonders if he would have made a different choice, how his life could have been different. He also wonders what he would have done if, while walking through the streets of Enoshima, he had stumbled upon his ex-girlfriend.

The Feel-Good Part

This movie deals with several emotions and, in particular, human greed. Taro has a happy and loving family and is in a good position working at a major company. Even though he has everything that most people do not have, his greed takes over his memories. He appears to be lost in the thoughts of his past and starts wondering about the choices he made and how his life could have been different if he chose something else instead. He also looks back and wonders if he will ever run into his ex-girlfriend, with whom he made a promise to return to Enoshima and see if they are happy or not. At this point, the movie dwells deeper into the thoughts and emotions of an individual during and after the choices they make throughout their lives and heavily invests itself in such emotions, which makes watching the movie worthwhile.

The Disappointing Factor

The movie’s being heavily invested in emotions makes it a heavy movie, which is not suitable to relax and watch on any day. It makes it difficult to keep up at times, and one might lose interest in watching the movie as a result.
