Drama Digest

The drama is also known as ‘If I’d Kissed Her.’ The show revolves around a guy named Nozomu Momochi, who works in a supermarket called Yumehana. He is friendly and kind. He does not involve himself in trouble and instead helps those who are in it. He does not have many ambitions and is very happy with his job. He is not interested in dating and is a huge manga fan. He loves reading manga stories during his free time. He gets excited over little things and leads a peaceful life. One day, he happened to meet Tomoe Yuizuki while he was working.  She is a successful manga author with a very bright personality. She also wrote a popular manga named ‘Seika no Sora,’ which is Momochi’s favorite manga. She is carefree and leads a very luxurious, lavish life. She loves her work as an author and also attends hula dance classes in her free time. She turned out to be quite different than what Momochi imagined, which caught him by surprise. They introduce themselves and develop a good bond right at that time. She often visited the supermarket store and started to create a close bond with Momochi. As a leading author, she also had a ton of anti-fans and received hate comments which frustrated her a lot. The negativity tired her a lot, and Momochi’s closure gave her peace. They had a strange yet satisfying relationship. Tomoe then offered Momochi to work for her which gave rise to their dependency on each other. They plan to go to Okinawa for a trip, not knowing what they have in store for themselves. As they boarded the plane together, it suddenly crashed, and Tomoe unfortunately, passed away, whereas Momochi survived. He was rushed to the hospital, and in a turn of events, a middle-aged guy comes up to him and introduces himself to Momochi as Tomoe. Was Tomoe dead? Was there a body swap that happened? The Feel-Good Part

The story had a very different storyline. The unexpected plot caught the viewers off guard and made the series even more enjoyable.

The story had a few minor flaws.

In-Depth Analysis

The series was directed by Hirugashi Ken, Yuki Saito, and Motohashi Keita. The story is centered on the theme of a body swap. Momochi had to encounter quite a several shocks. Firstly, he came across the shocking news of the person he liked, Tomoe, being dead even though they were on the same plane together. As he was already grieving, he had to encounter the shocking news of Tomoe being transformed into a guy’s body. But he didn’t give up and stood beside her for as long as he could. He brought changes in Tomoe which made her see the world from a different perspective and respect it. Overall, the visuals, the dialogue delivery, the cinematography, etc, everything was excellent and well portrayed.

Star Power

The cast did a fantastic job in portraying their characters. Matsuzaka Tori played the role of Momochi Nozomu. He did an excellent job. The audience liked his character and found him very relatable. Aso Kumiko played the role of Yuizuki Tomoe, and the audience loved her character too! She was fearless and bold and did a fantastic job as a writer in a male-dominated society.

Overall Opinion

The show has a unique storyline which makes it very interesting and enjoyable to watch. If you love dramas with mysterious stories, this is a must-watch!
