Drama Digest –
Akechi Mitsushide uses a smartphone living in the 16th century during the Sengoku Period. He lives the life of a samurai, full of fighting enemies and searching for meaning and purpose in life. The fun twist of adding technology during a time of no strand of it at all is fun and exciting to watch, mainly how people react to a discovery. Akechi Mitsushide being different in his community brings more problems than he expected. The acceptance from his community regarding a product that has never been used in that phase is beautiful.
The Feel-Good Part –
The good part of this series is the uniqueness and the freshness this series brings with itself. The story written for this series is smooth and doesn’t have many plot holes. The background score and music is impressive, and it creates another depth and dimension to the overall story and the scene. The casting was excellent and impactful. The spin of a smartphone and traditional Japanese framework is not seen a lot unless shown with poor accuracy. This show works wonders balancing both poles fairly.
The Disappointing Factor –
This drama lacks cliches, and the male lead is unproblematic. The side characters, like the friends, are supportive and different from the other cringe dramas. With good and supportive friendships, there is no backstabbing, and that makes the drama dull. The need for a smartphone is deferred in the story, which is contrary to the present scenario we live in, which can trigger the audience. The story can seem wacky and meaningless with the introduction of a smartphone into the traditional world, and can also hurt the sentiments of that era.
In-Depth Analysis –
This drama doesn’t have any love triangles, last-minute breakups or misunderstandings. This differentiates this drama from all other ones. The chemistry between the side and the main characters is cute and innocent. The male lead knows the past struggles and pains of the other characters, and it is nice that he cares about him after all. The supporting characters have complimented the main leads and have improved the overall quality of the series.
Star Power –
The male lead is very promising with good acting skills. The usual samurai skills he can show are accurate and specific, which shows he has rehearsed and learned about this before shooting for the drama. The good part is the major plot twist they have brought as a special. This special accompanies the main series around Akechi and gives his character a new depth and dimension. Akechi’s character is gripping and engaging to the most. It is likeable to see a righteous character getting attention.

A magical experience for smartphone lovers! It is a worthwhile watch.
