Drama Digest

Ye Xiu is a top and professional player of the famous online multiplayer game, Glory. He was, at the time the most renowned player and had a nickname, “Battle God”. However, his gaming days comes to an end when forced out of his team for various reasons. Dejected, he joins Chen Guo’s late-night internet café as a manager. When “Glory” launches its tenth server, Ye Xiu decides to re-enter the game with a different character named “Lord Grim”. With his ten years of experience, he dedicates himself to this modified version of the game to reach the top again.

The Feel-Good Part

Stunning gaming scenes, excellent mocap, and CGI. The story is unique and exceptionally well told, supported by equally impressive editing and background music. No romance, no fantasy, and no affectionate script, and yet the message delivered by this series is powerful.

The Disappointing Factor

Chen Guo’s character is poorly written. She’s established weirdly clingy and airheaded. Also, the internet café shown is unrealistic and not at all ideal for gaming.

In-Depth Analysis

Along the way to regaining his top position Ye Xiu meets many people and makes some good friends. With them on his side, he creates a team and enters the game with dedication. With his excellent record, achievements after achievements flow in for him and his team, catching the attention of other players.

Star Power

The actor Yang Yang plays the character of Ye Xiu and has given a mind-blowing performance. As there is no love angle in this series, the focus is on Ye Xiu most of the time, and Yang Yang made sure to give his best in each scene.

Overall Opinion

Excellent graphics, a superb storyline, and a mind-blowing performance is a perfect combo you shouldn’t miss. A must-watch!
