The Feel-Good Part
The spinoff is refreshing to watch after the original series. The characters, their chemistry, and the storyline are heartwarming to watch.
The Disappointing Factor
The only disappointing factor other than the spinoff being a short one is- it’s unclear whether Xu Jin and Qiao Yi Rong are meeting for the first time after a thousand years or if Xu Jin has encountered her reincarnations throughout her life. He had paintings of her at first, then photos of her from various periods, so it’s safe to assume that Xu Jin will run into Qiao Yi Rong at some point in her life. However, it appears that this is not the case.
In-Depth Analysis
Xu Jin, who lived for 1000 years, waits to meet the love of his life. He has a special ability to see people’s dreams. Qiao Yi Rong is reborn Fu Rong and has lived the same dream for ten years, about her getting married to an unknown man. Meanwhile, Xu Jin visits her Qiao Yi Rong at Ruyi Blooms. After the visit, Qiao sees the same marriage dream vividly and frequently; hence she decides to pursue Xu Jin. As the show is set in the modern era, it displays how Xu Jin and Qiao Yi Rong fall in love despite their contract.
Star Power
The star power of the show is Qiao Yi Rong! She knows what she wants and works elegantly to get toward her goal, which is to make Xu Jin jealous and marry him.
Besides that, the production team does a fantastic job with the script and visuals.
Overall Opinion
The spinoff is only four episodes, super short and cute with an ‘aw’ factor.
