Drama Digest

Sang Tian wants to be a figure skater. She promises her family on her 18th birthday that she will be accepted to the same university that her mother attended. Sang Tian is undeterred, and in a desperate attempt to make the college team, she disguises herself as a male ice hockey player and participates in a trial match. She outperforms expectations and gets named to the men’s ice hockey team.

The Feel-Good Part

Individually, the main characters were also incredibly enjoyable to watch. Bing Wen, He’s mischievous, especially playful, acts chilly but is actually a wee ball of fluff on the inside, and he’s just too cute. God bless Darren Chen for taking on this position; it’s wonderful for him. Sang Tian was a cute, and she did appear like a boy, but her lipstick was a little too visible, and they should have gone with something else.

The Disappointing factor

To be honest, the play is rife with clichés: prosopagnosia, cross-dressing, fated love, a questionable number of accidental kisses, and so on. However, they managed to pull off all of the clichés. The play never claims to be brilliant; rather, it strives to be as straightforward as possible. The chemistry and performance of the two main stars were unquestionably what saved the show from its weak at best narrative.

In-Depth Analysis

Sang Tian is a young figure skater who dreams of becoming a professional. She promises her family on her 18th birthday that she will get accepted to the same university that her mother did. She must pass a test in order to gain admission, which she expects to ace as a skilled skater and student. Sang Tian, on the other hand, does not fare well on the exam and fails it. Sang Tian is undeterred, and in a desperate attempt to make the collegiate team, she disguises herself as a male ice hockey player and enters a trial match. She impresses so well that she is chosen for the men’s ice hockey team. Things become much more problematic for her when she learns that Wen Bing, a young man with whom she has previously clashed, is now a member of the team. Worse, she is forced to share a dormitory with him, and she attempts to conceal her true identity. On the ice, Sang Tian and Wen Bing are the driving forces behind their team’s unexpected success, and the squad now has a chance to win the championship. As the two students get to know one another, they establish mutual respect, but can this ever evolve into love?

Star Power

This drama was cliched, but it was presented in such a way that it felt innovative. For once, there was no excessive drama, no unpleasant love rivals, and no demanding mother. We just had our key characters to form a close bond with.

Overall Opinion

Overall, My Unicorn Girl is a fantastic show, especially if you want something a little lighter. It’s not ideal, and it’s a long way from being perfect, but it’ll suffice. The plot isn’t always logical, but the chemistry between the two protagonists is worth watching.
